How to use "Feed My Inbox"
Some websites, such as the blogs, contain RSS feeds. An RSS feed basically notifies you whenever something new has been added to the site. Feed My Inbox allows you to subscribe to an RSS feed and have those notifications come to your email instead of requiring you to go to a seperate reader. This can help you stay up-to-date on all the news from your favorite sites.
Note: these email updates are not real-time. It can take up 12-24 hours before you receive an email about the updates.
"Grabbing" an RSS feed
An RSS feed is just a URL or web address that you can subscribe to. Then anytime an update is made to the blog, podcast or newsfeed, etc. you will receive an update.
For the purposes of this tutorial it is assumed that you are subscribing to an RSS feed from a CofC blog (blogs.cofc.edu). It is also recommended that you use Firefox as your web browser. You can download the free Firefox browser at http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/.
- Navigate to the blog to which you would like to subscribe.
- In the Firefox address bar notice the RSS icon
. Click on it.

If a submenu appears choose "Subscribe to XXXXX Posts RSS feed'...

- A new webpage reappears that shows all of the blog posts in a bare and unformatted way. Highlight that new URL and copy it (CNTL-C on Windows or Command-C on Mac).

- Now the you have copied your RSS feed address we just need to go to FeedMyInbox.com.

An email will be sent to you each time the feed is updated, but no more than every 24 hours (to cut down on inbox clutter). Whether there is 1 post or 10 posts to the feed in a 24 hour period, you receive them all in one email.
Each FeedMyInbox email will have an unsubscribe link on the bottom. Simply click it to unsubscribe from a particular feed. Nothing else is required—you will be removed immediately.
